This EP and the song titled “The Sickness” were both inspired by, and created during, the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic in the Spring of 2020. It was in early March, when songwriter Derwood James Willhite (Tensas) was tasked by his 11 year old daughter to write a song, called The Sickness, about the current virus continuing to spread around the world. Their conversation happened to be on the very same day they were out modeling together in an old train car in Victor, Colorado for the plague mask photograph that became the album cover for this EP.

A few weeks later in early April, the ongoing epidemic and economic crisis had finally inspired Tensas late one night to write his version of the story. Even though the perfect song for his daughter had come to life, there was a quarantine and lockdown creating a bigger issue... So he then embarked on recording these four folk and blues tracks, alone in a small Rocky Mountain cottage, in an effort to capture and deliver his own interpretation of the darkness and pain felt by humans all around the world during the pandemic.
