This song is about how in a land of plenty we lost one of the good ones on a hot summer day in late August 2001. One of our best friends took his life. He was 17. He made awesome mix tapes, loved Scorsese movies, and Radiohead. I had known him since he was a baby. He was so proud of our band. One day we got the call that he mixed antifreeze with Gatorade and went into a coma. 9/11 happened weeks later and shortly after we entered into endless war. That has been the history of this band, when it started, and why. As an alternative to having a dead mind and an apathetic future - where we could talk about what’s real and how to spread love to our friends and strangers alike. One love. Music, community, and truth. The antithesis of war and the hopeful seeds of sparking activism for peace. -James Searl
