Three years ago, Charlie Z (DRMAGDN) was given a super catchy completed song, lyric, melody and arrangement in a dream. This had never happened to him before but in the dream the song had a dance, went viral around the world and was a huge breath of fresh air for all in very trying times. He woke up and recorded it to a voice memo and sat on it for years because he thought it wasn’t in a gritty or edgy enough to be a DRMAGDN Cyborg Drummer/DJ EDM song.
Fast forward to 2019 where he was working with another artist named Poem King and he met the amazing singer Josephine Cho. She knew multiple Asian languages so after our session ended early Charlie asked her to translate the words of the song from my dream into 5 different languages which included Korean, Japanese, Tagalog, Thai and Chinese Mandarin. DRMAGDN cued up an empty track and asked her to sing a rough demo of the vocals. When he heard her sing the song, it was the exact voice of his dream so knew he needed to finish the track immediately. DRMAGDN slaved hard to make the track as heavy and intense as possible since the melody is so cute.
It’s now 2020 and we are in some dark dystopian times with a major worldwide pandemic virus causing an unheard of mass quarantine. DRMAGDN got flashbacks to the the second half of my dream so he know it’s time for this song to be released to help bring people’s moods up around the world. He is stuck indoors with the rest of the world right now but wanted to share a bit of fun and light via the song called Lucky Cat that is going to be on his forthcoming debut DRMAGDN record “Escape From NYC.” So feel free to do the silly dance and share the song via the tags @DRMAGDN #DRMAGDN #LuckyCat & #LuckyCatChallenge which is to spread hope, peace, health, prosperity and fun in this crazy world we are living in. DRMAGDN, pronounced Drumageddon, is the brainchild of Charlie Zeleny, a NYC-based Virtuoso Solo Drummer who has over 12 years experience touring 20 countries, 41 US states and playing on 135+ records. He is an intense and highly energetic live drummer who simultaneously DJs using drum pad controllers, triggers and a laptop while hyping up the crowd. He has garnered over 1 million YouTube views & 12,000 subscribers across his social networks.
