Silent but always working, Brooklyn Singer/MC Ash Levi has spent the past 2 years trying to navigate the jagged path of life. After dropping out of college with no plans for the foreseeable future, Levi put all his chips in on music and pursued a job in the mysterious field of studio engineering. Using every opportunity he could find, Ash found himself assisting and recording some of the top artists of today while studying the craft and secret techniques of top engineers in NYC. Struggling to balance his personal life and work, Levi used his music as an outlet for release and came up with the initial outlines for Dissent and Denial. On bass driven tracks like "Burn Me Out," "Can''t Get Enough" (with assistance from long time collaborator Ab$ence), and "My Worst," we see the influence of Southern Trap/Hip Hop partnered with woozy ambient synths and hard hitting uptempo drums to help capture his stress and anxiety at the time, he also provides a hard contrast of emotions from cuts like "Scars," and a sense of longing and loss from the hypnotic "A Thousand Miles Away." Ready to prove to himself and his peers, Dissent and Denial was made with the intention of an introduction to Ash Levi, and he has no plans of leaving soon.
