Groove Powa EP

As Variance moves ever closer to the 20th release, it at these times we have to think of the limited capacity of releases left in her catalogue. As the owner of the label i can guarantee our fans and followers will not be disappointed with the release schedule. Not one Variance release is wasted on mediocre music, cutting edge and thoughtful is our status quo, weather we go back to the days of "Keepsakes - Ever So Merry LP" or even our initial Various Artist EP "Introducing". To think I would have even been saying we are nearing the end, I would of laughed and said we are only just beginning, and yes we are, as a cultural project and influence on the techno scene that we hope will resound throughout the years, but that may be just hopeless optimism.
Regardless of this thought, the current EP that we bring you hails from the London Scene, Rico Casazza is a talented and diverse electronic musician, based in London. Having produced music for over 10 years, he has established a solid musical identity, based around his live performance and beautifully crafted tracks, with releases on labels such as Soma, we welcome him onto Variance with two immensely creative originals "Groove Powa" & " Martello". On Remix duties is a recent emerging artist, Rommek who has shown promising developments in his sound, as well as carving his way into the current techno scene. His extensive interest in sound design is embedded within the atmospheric, dynamic and textured tracks he produces. With multiple releases on Blueprint the man is just getting started, and shows no signs of letting up, the remix really shows why this man is getting the praise from every angle, every bit of it deserved, superb sound creation, excellent remix. Then welcoming back Scenedrone yet again, with another odd one, remixing "Groove Powa", upping the bpms, bringing the sub to the drone level and jamming for 7 mins, I guess he can call that a remix?, but seriously, an all round solid EP with something for everyone, lovers of analogue, broken beat, experimental, straight 4 on the floor techno, this EP has got you covered. Don't be afraid to partake.
