Sky Dust

Milan based mastering engineer and sound designer Ramsi teams up with singer Label Mou on this ambitious EP for Ampispazi Recordings. The talented studio virtuoso delves right into the more experimental and radical side of music making here: his choice of melodies and textures is impressive, and the unusual combination of effects and classic electronic instruments is nothing short of striking. Classically trained Label Mou (a.k.a. Liliana Desiati)'s David Lynchean style of singing blissfully combines her jazz and electro pop influences to daydreaming enchanting visions, and her voice is a never ending rhapsodic lullaby. Title track "Sky Dust"'s ethereal vocals and tight beats flow sweetly along deep bass chords, granular atmosphere noises, while moody, off-kilter trippy percussions lead onto a synth explosion in the break, adding a twisted touch to the dreamy celestial and psychedelic trance feeling of this song. The Dub Mix brings the paranoid bass line to the fore, menacing and creepy, while Coa Remix high pitches the singing to the extreme, with the original percussions taking over the sonic spectrum and punching harder into the speakers.
