We welcome back Valerio for his second EP on the label, the label regular and as of the start of 2018, Variant Electronic A&R man. This EP shows his development since "END OF TIME EP" a great collection of tracks that shouldn't be played down. Like that EP label head Luke Creed remixes again, alongside another remix by Variant Electonic debutant Tension. This is fantastic collection of tracks, will hold the attention of any techno fans, and get that floor moving. From Luke Creeds old school vibe remix, to the incredible jittery and powerful remix by Tension, and all of Valerios incredible original tracks, starting with "Dossier 00000001" we have a dose of originality and uniqueness from the get-go, great progressions, banging kick and developing and progressing percs, intense atmosphere, topped off with a fantastic vocal sample. Second up is Epilessia which translates to epilepsy, is a funky number with a lot going on, a deep synth and killer kick, perfect for a dark basement with nothing but a strobe, I guess that explains the name. Finally of the originals we have Inexistent, the heaviest number on the EP at 135 bpm, this is a true floor-filler, in fact we believe that these three tracks are very accessible and dj friendly while still pushing the boundaries of what we consider "the norm", if perfection was possible this EP could be it, but perfection is fleeting, if you were to ever feel you have reached it, you haven't, there is always room for improvement, that being said, since his time releasing on Variant, Valerio continues to improve. As for the remixes, Luke Creed remixed "Dossier 00000001" keeping to the original themes of the track, his take on it is cleaner, but remains filthy, and makes full use of the vocal sample, with some unexpected progressions. The Tension remix of "Inexistent" is most certainly a different feel to the original, it keeps the atmosphere and expands on it, with some interesting progressions, and an overall dark and eerie feeling, the broken beat kicks, the dark background soundscape, and hard yet deep feeling, it hard to come by tracks like this, a welcomed addition to the Variant roster.
