Speed Garage (Спид Гэридж) - музыкальное творение британских грубиянов, сотканный из таких стилей как Гараж Хаус и Джангл. В поисках чего-то нового Гараж хаус начали играть на повышенной скорости: со 120-125 BPM (ударов в минуту) до 128-130 BPM. Так как ускоренный вокал в композициях звучал пискляво, британские музыканты стали его вырезать, заменяя глубокой и извилистой басовой партией из такого стиля, как Джангл. Из-за ускоренной подачи Спид Гэридж еще называют Plus eight (Plus-8 или +8). Ускорение Диджеи делали с помощью ползунка на приборной панели проигрывателя - Питч-контрол.
Спид Гэридж с его характерным ямайским духом называли ещё Raggage (Реггидж), а так же опасным, бандитским, а британцы просто называли Underground Garage (Андеграунд Гэридж). Хулиганский, неотесанный стиль был на пике вплоть до 98 года. 99 год стал для него угасающим. Есть много версий почему он быстро ушёл на спад. Одна из версий - просто вышел из моды и дал дорогу своему младшему брату 2 Step Garage или просто 2 Step, который прожил дольше своего предшественника.
